Reason #1 doesn't make a whole lot of sense. You're basically saying that any random company with a Microsoft license is more trustworthy than Google. I would venture to say that most people trust Google more highly than Microsoft, let alone a "Microsoft-licensed" company.

Most of this article compares fully hosted Microsoft Exchange solutions to the standard (i.e. free) version of Google Apps. In order for the comparison to valid, the blog should compare either the free versions of Microsoft Exchange hosting solutions to the free version of Google Apps or the the paid versions of Microsoft Exchange hosting to the paid (i.e. premium) version of Google Apps. Basically, what this blog says is that the free version of Google Apps doesn't provide 99.9% uptime and 24/7 support phone support. The premium service does provide those features.

It does comment on some feature related issues such as not being able to use Gmail in an offline mode, not having a Google apps appliance and integration with wireless features. These are real issues and should be a part of a trade-off analysis. I personally use both MS Exchange based e-mail with an Outlook client and Gmail-based e-mail with a Mozilla Thunderbird client. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
