I’m now an Exchange 2007 Messaging Solutions Administrator
Yesterday, I finally got my results from the 70-238 Pro: Deploying Messaging Solutions with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 beta exam, and it was a pass. This was the last of the 3 Exchange 2007 exams (there’s also 70-236 and 70-237), I had to take in order to become an MCITP: Microsoft Exchange 2007 Messaging Solutions Administrator.
Woohoo!

Congrats Henrik! It must feel great to be one of the few MCITPs out there in Exchange.
I recently passed 70-236 a couple weeks ago and currently working on 70-237 (for some reason I never seem to get beta invites, so I just have to wait for the official ones to come out)
What did you think of 70-237 and 70-238? I know that both are design exams but would you say that they were similar to 70-285?

Thanks Mark! It okay but I don’t feel that great… I mean in a couple of months we’re most likely flooded with MCITP on Exchange. But its could to have them completed.
The beta versions of 70-237 and 70-238 was a little disappointing if you ask me. I did’nt feel there was much “design” over these exams (they didn’t include the scenario approach as 70-285, it was just multi-choice and dragĀ“and drop questions). Actually 70-237 was surprisingly easy.
Also, you don’t have the same time pressure as you did in 70-285.
Good luck with the two last ones, if you feel comfortable with Exchange 2007, you’ll nail them…

Well done!
I also passed 70-236 and 70-237. You are right: 70-237 was very easy. I’m planning to write 70-238 as soon as it’s available (12 July). How does 70-238 compare with 70-236 and 70-238 regarding difficulty?
Henrik Walther Says:

Yes 70-238 is definately more difficult than 70-236 and 70-237 (at least the beta was).

I just sat 70-238 (Yes, it is available for scheduling on the Vue website at least as of last night.) I passed but I thought it was the toughest of the three Exchange 2007 exams. I agree that 237 was the easiest of the bunch. I was a little disappointed with 238; I felt the quality of the questions was a bit low- Some vague or contradictory questions and a few blatant grammatical errors.
Anyhow, congrats Henrik!

Yes 70-238 was the toughest but I agree on the questions… Had hoped this was fixed in the live exam.

There haven’t been released any training kits for these exams yet, but you could check out the preparations guides for each exam (links can be found in my May newsletter: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletters/may2007.asp), and then just study the Exchange 2007 docuemtnation: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124558.aspx
In addition, it would be a good idea to build a lab environment. Plenty of testing is always a plus.

I’ve passed 70-238 today, but i found 70-237 tougher. Even though i used powershell extensively, i still always had a trusty manual by my side.
I really wonder if the MCITP cert looks as cheap as the MCTS certs do.

I passed 70-238 today and found it to be the toughest of them all. I do thing 70-236 was tough as well just because it involved more powershell but overall the exams were not bad. and most of the questions I felt were valid questions.
I noticed someone mentioned that we will be flooded with MCITP’s which is true if you see all the differnet specialties i.e. vista, exchange, OCS, sharepoint, SQL so yes there will be many however I feel there will not be as many exchange mcitp’s. I am basing this off of the MCSE Messaging numbers.
I recently saw that there are only 30 some thousand messaging certifications and mind you that is including 2000 mcsa, mcse 2003 mcsa, mcse messaging. There are only about 3000 mcse messaging certifications issued for 2003 if I remember my numbers correctly. It was from a teched presentation that I viewed after teched.

I passed 236 today - and it looks like MS tests get more difficult (if I remember correctly, Exch 2k and 2k3 tests were easier that this 236
. At least I used to get higher scores…
I still don’t have any intention to memorize too many PS cmdlets and their parameters (but I know how to find them when I need them) - and 236 tested them heavily.

Hello Henrik,
A lot of congratulations for you…
I already passed the beta exams 237 and 238.
But, unfortunately, I never received Beta codes for Exchange 2007 Administration (236).
I hope to have time to take the last exam in October.
