Over the years a couple of Exchange tools have been released. Their interface was almost never a contemporary one and they weren’t really updated regularly. With Exchange 2007 all these tools get a face lift. Some of them are already here, some will be released in the upcoming year.

Fact is, a few people delete old e-mails. Like other things you don’t need it just accumulates and accumulates and gathers binary dust.

As in other similar cases, scripting can really help. Glen Scales wrote a nice one that generates a useful HTML report for you, similar to the mailbox list in ESM, but with age reporting.

Microsoft tries and tries but every time it fixes some hole something stops working. Well, perhaps not every time. However, you can depend on Microsoft to release post fixes fixes, such as this one:

The bug seems to be a bit obscure to me, so I guess, if you don’t have it, there is no need need to install this fix.

Sending information to Microsoft has always been in the center of heated debate. Because of Microsoft’s size and dominance a lot of people were reluctant to send internal information and called MS “The new big brother”, etc.

Personnaly, I don’t think Microsoft really cares about my internal information. It is just too big for that.

So I send crash debugs and the likes hoping the next product will have less bugs and crashes.

This has been a problem here in Israel for a long time, causing me to once again think of our beloved country as some thirld-world one. No more! No the great US of A has accepted the regular annoyance of changing it’s clock twice a year and the consequences of changing sceduled appointment times, etc.

Microsoft will release updates for Exchange 2003 SP2, Exchange 2007 will deal with this with no updates and the rest, well, one can hope PSS will provide workarounds.
